THANK YOU SO MUCH for getting together to do these calls. And I was thankful that the call was recorded and also offered as a download that we could review. I missed the call last night due to not getting Janice's email about your series just as the call was ending.

I AM SO THANKFUL to CONNECT with other teachers (even thought I'm not teaching now and haven't for eight years) who are passionate in their hearts about children and supporting them and their education and development. I taught first grade in the public school for three years and left that to do preschool because that's when their lives are still being shaped.

Just this year, my passion has been resurrected and renewed, and I've been longing for others to connect with. Thanks for answering my call !!! I will look forward to connecting via telephone on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month; however, I already have an on-going commitment for the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. That's another reason I'm so glad you are recording these so we can listen later. Teleconference Series II

A NEW Six Week Teleconference Series

Begins January 25th, 2012

Join us in this next series for an ever greater experience of expansion and growth.
We will discuss the following topics:

Session I ADHD/ADD: What is ADHD/ADD reallly? How is it diagnosed? What happens when a child is diagnosed? How much of what we call ADHD/ADD is actually a failure of our system to meet the natural requirements for children? Learn how it's possible to get past the label and see these attributes as gifts. Learn simple techniques to help children ground, center and focus so that your classroom can be a peaceful place of cooperation and learning. These children are our leaders. Let's keep their spirits alive.

Session II Discipline: What is discipline? Who is discipline for? Is discipline in your classroom just another word for control? Who feels good with discipline and why? Find out FOUR ways you can change your classroom management and approach to discipline to revolutionize your classroom. You may never need to send a child out of the room again.

Session III Intelligence: Did you know that intelligence is not fixed? What is intelligence then? How is it defined, recognized, judged? How do we reach and foster inner intelligence? Does tapping into our true Inner Self open up our intelligence? Learn THREE ways you can access your own and help your students to access their own inner resources for greater learning and retention.

Session IV Environment As Sacred Space: We fill our classrooms with posters, work samples, and books galore only to find that for the most part they have minimal effect on learning. In fact, often they serve to overstimulate the children's brains and distract them. What is really required for them to learn may be the opposite case where less is truly more. This week learn practical techniques for turning any environment into a sacred space of love in which children can grow and learn.

Session V Caring For One's Self: As teachers/guides of today's children, it is essential that we care for ourselves. This week we will discuss some of the pertinent questions to ask yourself and some exercises to practice what will assist you in taking care of yourself so that you have more to give others. It is not selfish to meet your requirements first. It is necessary.

Session VI Integrating Our True Selves Into The Classroom: We know children can "see right through us." They can smell the fear of the new inexperienced teacher. They know when we are being sincere and present and when we are just going through the motions. Are they seeing who we really are or are they seeing a teacher persona we put on to mask ourselves? It is tempting to put on the mask. What happens when we choose not to? What happens when we show up fully ourselves? What changes in the experience of school for us and for our students? Explore how to show up authentic and still run your classroom.
